Egészségedre!!!
Egészségedre to Competir Internacional and its acomplishes in Hungary!
We were present in Budapest Wine Festival – Budapest Borfesztivál – with IFDT, that has completed its 26th edition this past Sunday. From the 07th until the 10th, wine lovers got the chance to taste various wines with different origins at the astonishing Buda Kastély.
Every September tens of thousands of people visit the old castle to celebrate wine at Hungary’s greatest wine festival. Hundreds of exhibitors show their wines from all around Hungary and from foreign countries as well. Even if you do not consider yourself a wine expert, the ambience and the program do guarantee an unforgettable time spent in Budapest.
Competir Internacional was present at the Sirha Budapest 2016, with food&beverage Portuguese products, attempting to enter the Hungarian market for the first time. Also, as mentioned in previous news, we won a gold medal at the VinAgora International Wine Competition 2017 with Morgado Sta Catherina 2015 DOC Bucelas, representing the white wine in the Award Gala past July 07th.
After the award winning, Competir Internacional had the opportunity to expose its wines at the Budapest Wine Festival in cooperation with IFDT Ltd (International Food and Drink Trade), a company with approximately 20 years of existence in the market, very well known for its international portfolio of goods.
The Hungarian public showed a preferred taste for its own wines, however, we have succeeded between some locals that are wide open to try different types of wine. We even had people asking directly for Vinho Verde, Douro and Alentejo! Some references were completely sold out. It was also nice to meet Portuguese living in Budapest and confirming how mush similarities there are between both countries and how successful they are professionally.
Competir Internacional kindly thanks the Embassy of Hungary in Portugal, in the person of Pál Rudas, husband of the Ambassador in Lisbon Klára Breuer, for being present at the show and for the share of information about the market as a Budapestian. Also, it was a pleasure to have at the booth Joaquim Pimpão, head of the AICEP delegation in Hungary, supporting Portuguese companies entering the local wine world.
Last but not least, we thank the wonderful IFDT team and owners – Susan & Peter, for such a great job promoting Portuguese wines and its quality. Hope to see you next September.
