World Food Warsaw 2017
Competir Internacional was present at the 3rd edition of World Food Warsaw 2017, an increasing food&beverage trade show that work as well as a platform to connect and conduct business with the industry buyers operating in Eastern Europe.
According to the National Institute of Statistics – ISTAT – recent data (Jan-Jul 2016), Portuguese goods exported to Poland made a total of 277,9 million euros. Representing approximately 84% of exportation: 25,8% is associated with machinery; 9,8% stands for vehicles and other transport equipment; 9,3% related to agricultural products; 9,1% regarding plastic and rubber; 8,1% related to cellulose pulp and paper; 6,6% regarding base metals; 5,7% stands for textiles; 5% related to chemicals; and 4,8% regarding food.
In 2017 Poland advertises itself as a fast growing country, for its political stability, favorable location and economic prosperity. It is very encouraging to realize the Portuguese goods are widening in the Polish market, in order to achieve a positive trade balance between the two countries in the near future.
Also the market has been changing, being more careful about products origin and showing an eager for organic goods from local producers, as well as interested in international diversity and quality.
From the various chains attending the show, are included Jerónimo Martins, Makro, Tesco, Rossmann, Carrefour, E-leclerc, Auchan, Eurocach, etc. Top visiting countries were Ukraine, Belgium, the Netherlands, Lithuania, Germany, Belarus, Moldova, United Kingdom, Spain, Romania, Mexico, Norway, Czech Republic and Italy. Da Grasso, EatZone, Green Caffe Nero, Organic Coffee, Sphinx, Starwood Hotels were some of the key HoReCa representatives stopping by WFW17.
It was a pleasure to exhibit such great Portuguese products during this event and even more exceptional to be able to represent Sharish Gin, that deservedly won a Special Award at the Gala. Congratulations Portugal!
